Nightlife
The entertainment choices on Santorini are
as plentiful just as the night is long.
Santorini is very famous for that but also
very good. Most of the bars and night clubs
of Santorini are situated in the island's
capital, Fira, but also in the island's most
beautiful area, Oia, and in the two major
beach resorts, Kamari and Perissa. Fira is
the capital of Santorini Island and also its
commercial centre. It fascinates much people
and for that reason many café, bars and
night clubs have settled there.
To truly experience Santorini, we recommend
attending the several cultural events that
take place on the island. If you are here in
July, you may want to take in the annual
Santorini Jazz Festival (www.jazzfestival.gr),
which has been bringing many international
jazz bands and artists here every summer
since 1997. During August and September, you
can see the Santorini International Music
Festival (tel. 22860/23-166), with
international singers and musicians, gives
performances of classical music at the
Nomikos Centre in Fira. Admission to most
events starts at 15€ ($20). If traditional
entertainment is more to your liking we
suggest attending the traditional festivals
such as the "Ifaisteia" Cultural Festival in
Fira or the Episkopi Festival in Mesa Gonia
on August 15, where you are served fava (a
Santorini lentil dip delicacy).
Clubs and Bars in Santorini
On Santorini Island visitors can find a
plethora of nighttime entertainment venues.
The island is packed with bars, clubs,
discos and cafés that play a wide collection
of different kinds of music, satisfying
everyone, from the classical music fanatic
to the hard core rockers. Many café and bars
are situated along the caldera and feature
incredible panoramic sight over the
submerged volcano.
DOM Bar
Dom Bar is located in Kamari (Tel. 30 22860
33420) and it is the best spot to have a
drink and enjoy some music. It is considered
as one of the best santorini bars.
Koo Club
Koo club is located in Fira (Tel. 22860
22025)and it is one of the most popular
night clubs on Santorini Island. It is
always overcrowded of people in a mood to
dance and to have endless party.
Enigma club
Enigma club (Tel. 30 22860 22466) was
created in the summer of 1979. Since then,
it is considered as one of the best night
clubs of Santorini. It is said that if you
have left Santorini Island without go
dancing in Enigma club, you haven't saw the
island, it is an impressive atmosphere.
Franco's
Franco's (Tel. 030 02860 22881) is still the
most famous and best spot for entertainment,
but be prepared to pay about $9 per drink.
Classic music lovers can relax in this Bar.
Amethistos Café
Amethistos Café (Tel. 30 22860 22048) has a
friendly service in a cozy place. A Place
where you can drink a cup of Greek coffee,
it is something that you'll never forget.
Classico Café
Classico Café (Tel. 30 22860 23112) has been
created since 1998, a regular stop for the
visitor to Santorini. It is situated near
the Caldera at Fira, it features what may be
the best location for one to enjoy the
famous sunset of Santorini.
Mylos cafe
Mylos Café (Tel. 30 22860 71001-2) is
located in Oia, facing the most breathtaking
view of Cyclades along with the famous
sunset. There you will find the unique wines
of Santorini fresh cocktails and coffees of
your preference accompanied with the
relaxing music.
The Yellow Donkey Disco
The Yellow Donkey Disco (Tel. 30 2860 31462)
is located in Kamari and it is the most
popular with younger guests.
Club 33
Club 33 (Tel. 30 22860 23065) is located in
Fira. This has a friendly atmosphere and
good music. For Greek dance music, you
should definitely go to Club 33.
Tithora Bar
Tithora Bar (Tel. 30 22860 23519) is located
in Fira, cater to the aficionados of rock.
