Kamari is a famous beach resort of Santorini situated 10 km southeast of Fira, the island’s capital. The beach of Kamari is fully organized offering a wide range of facilities such as restaurants, sunbeds, umbrellas and various types of water sports activities. That is why it’s very popular among other Santorini beaches.

The main attraction of the village is the volcanic black sandy beach. Kamari extends along 5 km, where you can find hotels and Villas of all categories. Luxurious establishments as well as less expensive studios or rooms to let. Many traditional and fine dining restaurants on the beach, both offer fantastic dishes like fresh fish and seafood.

The graces of this coastal resort are the long walks by the beach, accompanied with Aegean Sea evening breeze and the natural beauties. The area is extremely attractive since the traditional houses, line the village of Kamari offering a beautiful view to the sea and there are many popular, worth visiting archaeological sites around the village.

One of the main archeological attraction is Ancient Thira. Ancient Thira consists of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine ruins and is an atmospheric and rewarding site to visit. The ruins include temples, houses with mosaics, the ancient agora (market) and other old settlements.

Kamari is a cosmopolitan beach resort on the south east of Santorini, which has been awarded the Blue Flag. The long stretch of beach lies under the impressive mountain of Mesa Vouno. The water is deep and blue, the sand is black and there is a lifeguard on duty.

A stone-paved promenade for strolling that runs parallel to the beach stretches across the crescent moon shaped bay. This is closed off to traffic during the summer months.

Kamari offers a wealth of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, as well as a lively nightlife. The beach is organized, with sun beds, umbrellas, water sports and diving.
